The bank sat in Davis Hall, the three-story brick block Hezekiah had built facing the depot. Ford's 1920 history is the only source for what happened to it while she ran it.
In November 1897 it was robbed, and Ford says the safe was ruined and the contents all taken. In July 1902 the bank burned. In 1905 it was robbed again; this time the thieves left the safe alone and took the change from the vault.
Ford counts four robberies in the bank's whole life and says none of them crippled it, since all of it was, he believed, insured. Two of the four, and the fire, fell in her fourteen years as president.
After 1907 the record goes quiet. No book says what became of her share of the bank, of Davis Hall or of the farm. The Gazette searched all four volumes of county history for her death, under every form of her name it could find, and came back with the passage below.
Her husband's death has a day. Her father and mother have a year. Her son Niles is marked deceased in two of the books. Her youngest son named a daughter Sarah R.
Her own death is in none of them.
